Laura Contreras is a professional dancer from Holland. She has graduated from Fontys Dance Academy direction jazz/urban.
With her Dominican dad and her Dutch mom, she lived the first part of her life on the other side of the world: in the Dominican Republic. At the age of 5, they moved to Almere, the Netherlands. At that time, she was already dancing for a year and kept on doing toddler balletdance. When she was twelve years old, she started to dance streetdance in a competitionteam and just a few years later she started cheerleading at Basketbalclub Eiffeltowers Den Bosch.
Laura got her pre-education of dance in Amsterdam at the School of Arts at the 5 o’clock class. Both at the 5 o’clock class as on her Bachelor degree she learned many different styles of dance. Because of this, she is now an all-round dancer.
Besides all the academic dance styles she learned, she also taught herself different forms (styles) of latin dances, such as salsa, merengue and bachata. She was a dancer in a latin performance group and in her spare time you can find her at salsa parties around Amsterdam. She is also trained in commercial dance, heels and jazz-funk.
